Invobot launches New Web Directory

Yeah i’ve been kind of busy these days with lots of work. I am sorry not to have come up with any electronics stuff for the past few days. Well while i’m exploring the USB interface and other stuff to make my own usb based PIC programmer , i just spent yesterday and today drawing up a website at http://discover.invobot.com .

This is just an effort to link up cool technical sites together using a automated system. Instead of me finding good pages and linking up on my site each and everday i thought it would be worth an effort to make an automated system to just do that. The interface has been kept simple and made as appealing as possible. I just put up a few adsense boards to cover up the page. Well making money through adsense? well not. i am expecting the directory to accumulate the best links availabale for technical guys like us. Once things add up well over there i am planning to give the desinging to a professional and get the links perfect. Next time you need not search in google for relevant technical links. just drive in to http://discover.invobot.com and find what you want.

SPOT UR PLACE!!! Anywhere in the world!!

Just came across a classic website, that made me roam around the world thru satelite.Yeah.. i got my place marked there! you can also spot ur place in your city.

The site consist of pictorial info on all over the world places taken from the satellite.and they are organised and managed using javascript programs – am sure this s a splendid job.The main features on this site is that u can mark ur place using the tools available in the menu at the top right.u can also search places if they are marked by somebody else before.

The other features are the zoom level, that can be adjusted for our convenience and the scale at the bottom that differs according to the places we drag on the page.All these works are done using java scripting.

I am goin to attent GRE Exam this july 31st so will be kind of busy.And untill then you’l get to know more about Web and computers and pretty much less Robotics. Invobot at 3rd Position!!!

Take a deap breath. chill out this was just five minutes after the counter was reset at 12 midnight today. Had fun watching this. had only 10 clicks in that time still had fun watching invobot on Rank 3. Next reset i’l make it on Position 1. I’m sure about it.Its all about Tricks but then thecurrent rating is noway imfluenced by me. I do not host indianbloggers site!

Next time i’l get ppl click to my site the moment the counter resets so will feel happy seeing my site on the First postion for the first few minutes of the Reset.Feel good factor u know!!!

Joining Amateur Hobby : HAM

I guess most of you would have read about HAM radio operators. Not yet?? well its actually a hobby persued by many around the but often is one that makes a difference especially during emergency and disaster situations.

By becoming a HAM You will actually build your own amateur transmitter and reciever and will be able to communicate with other HAMS around the world. I am not a HAM yet but will soon be one hopefully.

I went through the details about joining and things that you can do being a HAM… Man truly worth it. Becoming a HAM is not too difficula a job. Just write few tests and learn a bit and get your Tx trasmit and communicate. The most interesting thing that i came accross was Connection you HAM to your COMPUTER (Hmmm) and talking to astronaut. What… talking to an astronaut. Ha he doesn live nextdoor. Chill even i felt so. Well you can as there’s a HAM up there on the sattelite and astronaut there do communicate to HAMs on earth the claim.Cool. Now i reali wana know how rhis is done and get going!!

Microsoft Bot Contest!! “Now Create Robots with Microsoft”

Well Gates doesn’t want you to make any bot to count his money nor his associates around the world. The contest is to make a bot for MSN messenger. Hey wait did MSN sound to you like an internet messaging service.. yeah you are right. Then what Bot to make??well you’l understand if you do this.

I wondered if this was about robots at all ?? do you. (leave a comment about this. A topic to be diuscussed) . Wellthis is a contest that can fetchyou upto 20 laks in INR and $40,000 if you win. Microsoft gives lnk to three robot builders to write up you code. suggestions of the extent to which they would want that robot to work for you to make your winning chance better is all discussed in their webpage. Try it out. I found that the best part in creating it is to decide your response for various question. I wrote up one to make the user say “sorry” before the bot ever responded to him, he he he… it was FUN. i crated and tested it only on my computer and not on the network. i downloaded the ‘Conversagent™ BuddyScript SDK‘. but will soon download Akonix® L7 Builder™ SDK but its about a 102Mb :( .

You’l have to download the IDE’s and create your bot and set it up in a place which they provide at http://www.improvcenter.com/ and then submit to the contest. Registration essentiually means submiting your dfinished robot.

Try it out . Its open for students an professionals and just about anybody, Who knows you can chill out with some cash at the end of it.

Techfest ’07: Dates announced

Techfest , If you've not heard of it is IIT Bombay's techical fest that features Robotics as one of the major events. Techfest rocks Mumbai steets,colleges and the colleges around the country. It features cool cash prices upto $1000 for most of its robotic events.

Techfest 2007 Will be held from 26th to 28th of january.These Three days that will bring roboteers around th country to one place,will be great place to be in.

Techfest '06 featured roboitcs contests like Micromouse, and another Agrobot to plant sapslings after it had dug a hole and if i am right one another contest featured making a bot that was more like a vaccum cleaner to me to pick up something spillwd on the ground,The contest was to just clean the arena.But then Micromouse still remiains one of the major contest around there.If you are here around in India you should never miss out on such an event.

IIT Bombay is located a Powai around the Powai lake about an hour journey from the Mumbai Airport.Tall appartments and an amazing city.Techfest '06 is One of the most memorable events in my life and i had great fun.Will be there this time too.

Unique Football Playing Robot:Can’t get better

This is  a cute thing that caught my eyes as i surfed around.     
 

A two-legged robot called Jaldee takes a penalty during a football game 14 June in Bremen, northern Germany during the robot World Cup "Robocop".

The best feature of this which amused me was its dynamic architecture.The stability  in the design as roboteers would call it.Greatgoing.It has ignited My dreams of making a waslking bot.Will Try making it.

Does this Pic give u indication of money.. cash… There is something very interesting (let alone the cash aspect of the card) about the number pattern in the card. Well Dont worry we are no way close to number thory or something like that. Also knowing this can noway help u tweak card numbers for your use . But then this credit card funda is quite interesting.

The length of a credit card can be either 13 or 15 or 16 characters. The first digit is called the MIF or the major industry identifier. The various values are as follows…

Most of us will carry credit cards beginning with 4 or 5. A petrol card will begin with 7. The first 4 to 6 digits are called the issuers code and they tell us which entity issued us the card. Some well known issuers are as.

The remaining 10-12 bits are the actual credit card number. These numbers are not just randomly generated by the credit card companies but are generated such that they meet a certain rule. This rule or algorithm called the Luhn algorithm. The International Standards Organization (ISO/IEC 7812-1:1993) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI X4.13) have now standardized on the above algorithm for credit card number validation.

Lets take a dummy Visa card and apply the Luhn algorithm to it.

We first start from the right and this last digit is called the check sum. We start with the rightmost –1 digit and multiply every other digit by 2.

We then subtract 9 from any number larger than 10. Thus we get.

Another way out is by adding the individual digits.

The sum of the two is 80 which will add up to a number divisible by 10. Thus the above algorithm is called the Luhn modulus 10. The last digit is called the check digit as it is the one used to make sure that we get a final number divisible by 10. We have a 90% reliability with the Luhn algorithm. Next time you look at your credit card number don just look at it like a strange combiination of numbers but just note the pattern that it satisfies..
